Pyrmont Action Letter to Hon John Graham MLC - Congratulate Appointment

Pyrmont Action congratulates Hon John Graham on his appointment as Minister for Arts and Sciences and welcomes the government's proposal to retain the Ultimo Powerhouse as the Powerhouse Museum for Applied Arts and Sciences. The community urges the retention of the Wran building and galleria, and the Boulton and Watt and No 1 loco in their purpose-designed settings. They also request state heritage listing of the Powerhouse Museum site, the release of secret design briefs and business cases, and a pause on demolition and design plans until public review. Pyrmont Action suggests refurbishment of existing buildings as a cheaper alternative.
